Champions in Action in the U.S.
is fully operated by volunteers

Mentoring relationships increase interpersonal skills,
self-confidence, and the cognitive, spiritual
and emotional development of youth.

VOLUNTEER

There are few things more fulfilling than the opportunity to rescue disadvantaged youth from the traps of hardship, poverty, and violence. Champions in Action is fully operated by volunteers in the States who seek that opportunity. Our volunteers enable Champions in Action to accomplish its mission of making sustainable change in the lives of some of the worlds’ most at-risk youth. There are many ways for volunteers to plug in and make an immediate difference.

Volunteer in one of our divisions: We have many leadership positions available in each of our five U.S. divisions. We are dependent upon highly passionate and motivated volunteers to carry out the day-to-day work of the organization. As a proven volunteer, you will be trusted with great authority to help this organization reach its goals providing invaluable experience for your life and career. More importantly, you will have the opportunity to serve in an organization with the potential to impact millions of lives in multiple nations. Below are the five divisions and division leaders. If you are interested in volunteering in a division, please contact its leader directly:
Administration and Finance: Brad Dearsman
Development: Wilmar Mejia
Marketing: Nathan Mallonee
Missions: Missy Jakubowski
Sponsorship: Chris Reiser

Attend a camp: Lead, invite, or be a part of a team that serves at one of our premiere soccer camps. These trips are pivotal in making a lasting impact on our youth and mentors; many of whom have never experienced focused love through service. There is no doubt that you will find this one-of-a-kind experience to be life-changing. Soccer Instruction and Training: If you are a collegiate/professional soccer player or coach we invite you to serve at a camp by teaching our youth the game of soccer. The soccer skills of our youth are incredible, but also raw due to a lack of focused instruction from professionals. Your instruction will improve their soccer abilities while also demonstrating their potential as individual soccer players.

- For more information, please contact Champions’ Soccer Development Manager: Gavin Dozier

Hold a fundraising event: Champions in Action is in need of advocates who are willing to serve as a voice for the voiceless. Hold a fundraising event in your city highlighting the stories of youth whose very survival depends upon your advocacy.

- For more information on possible events please contact: Wilmar Mejia

Host a speaker: We are always seeking opportunities to talk about our youth. If you or your church, organization, or school would be interested in hearing more about Champions in Action, we would be honored at the opportunity to share.

- To schedule a speaker please contact: Jeanyne Walker

"...When my dad died, I was still going to school. We were on school break and my mom didn't have any money to support us, so we decided to come to Guatemala to look for work to help her. That is why I am working. I want to go to school but I can't..."

Volunteer Story

...I could feel their (the campers) anticipation and excitement and my heart began immediately to go out to them.  It wasn't long before I began to "bond" with the boys and felt I now had grandboys in Guatemala.  I loved it when they called me Grandma Nancy.  I have traveled to Guatemala 3 times now and each time my "compassion level" has increased.  God is expanding my heart as He gives me a grandmother's love for boys I have never known before in a country much different from my own...
