The inaugural girls’ soccer camp was really a special opportunity for me. I work full-time with two soccer-related ministries; I am the director of soccer development for Champions in Action, and I also work as the sports director of El Faro.

Inaugural Soccer Camp

Champions in Action had our inaugural soccer camp on November 14-20. That first Sunday morning, 97 teenagers from the worst zones of Guatemala City arrived at check-in not knowing what to expect. Their faces, serious and shy, were a far cry from those that left the camp the following Friday - joyful, full of hope, and sad to leave.

Rolando Fonseca Gives Endorsement

Rolando Fonseca recently released a full endorsement of Champions in Action. Rolando, a professional soccer player in Guatemala, is the leading goal-scorer for Costa Rica’s national team and played a pivotal role in Costa Rica’s qualification for the 2002 World Cup.

Guatemala Embassy Endorses Champions In Action

Champions in Action has received a full endorsement from Guatemala’s Ambassador to the United States. His Excellency Ambassador Francisco Villagrán de León became ambassador of Guatemala to the United States on March 13, 2008.
