"My name is Diego Manuel Roldan Rodas , A.K.A. Zuky. I am 15 years old.
I live in zone 7. It is a really dangerous place to live. There are a lot of criminals.
When I was 8 days old, someone intoxicated me with pills. When I was 4 years old, I swallowed 2 rusty bolts. When I was 10 years old I had Appendix surgery. And on December 24th I was shot. I was charging people for rides in a truck. A couple of people that got a ride tried to rob me and two bullets went into my head. They took me to the hospital and I was treated very badly, they wanted to leave me there dying. I had surgery and they could only take one bullet out of my head. Since then I’ve been having trouble with my sight. When I get older even if I can’t see very well, I would like to be a cartoonist. It is something that I love doing.
The truth is that it [the camp] was awesome. Since then my relationship with Christ has changed. I thank God and everybody else for making this possible. The camp is not only on my heart, it is in everybody’s heart." |
